Eyam Dale House is a home that offers residential care for the elderly.
It has been family owned and run by Tim and Lucy Waller since 1997, with
the help of a friendly and well-motivated team of care staff.
Eyam Domiciliary Service Limited was set up in 1999 when Tim and Lucy decided the time was right to branch out by offering care services to the local community to allow people to live happily and safely at home, as well as continuing to provide residential care in Eyam.
Lucy Waller is a Registered General Nurse with over twenty four
year's experience in care of the elderly and rehabilitation.Prior to taking over Eyam
Dale House Lucy was a senior 'G' grade Sister in charge of a 40 bedded
Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Unit based at Manchester Royal
Infirmary. Lucy was often left in charge of the hospital on a rotating
basis with other Senior Ward Sisters and gained vast experience in the areas of Elderly Care, Acute Care, Continuing Care, Rehabilitation and Terminal Care. In addition to teaching and assessing qualifications and certificates covering many areas of Elderly Care Lucy also holds a BSc (Hons) in Nursing.
Tim Waller was a Principle Business Analyst and Project Manager at G.U.S.
Although he very much enjoys the care side of the business, Tim concentrates on the administration and holds a PhD.
From University Tim spent 15 years working with some of the UK's leading retail and software companies as a
Project Manager and Business Analyst and holds a PhD.
Eyam Domiciliary Service now employs over 25 staff and is able to offer care and support to all its
clients living in the Hope Valley and surrounding areas, either privately or through Derbyshire County Council Social Services, with which the Service is accredited. The service is also registered with the Commission
for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
The Eyam Domiciliary Service staff are vetted through the Criminal Records Bureau and references are carefully checked. Following the successful completion of our own in-house induction program, which includes all mandatory courses such as Moving and Handling, all staff are encouraged to further their education via NVQ's and other relevant qualifications.
Both Tim and Lucy believe strongly that proper recruitment, training, commitment and flexibility are the keys to the successful delivery of quality care.
All members of staff have achieved or are pursuing NVQ Level II as a
minimum standard. Many have achieved NVQ III or NVQ IV and have embarked
on higher courses. In addition, staff members undertake training in
Moving & Handling, Emergency First Aid, Food Handling and Health and
Safety, as well as attending the many in-house study sessions which are
run weekly.
Above all, although it is a professionally run care business, it is still a family concern.
Tim and Lucy's children, Mark and Katie, very much enjoy growing up in such a friendly village as Eyam
that has a strong tradition of caring for both old and young alike. Katie is also a member of the care team whilst following in her mothers footsteps
and training as an RGN at Manchester Royal Infirmary, a factor that permeates right through the company and means that staff and
clients alike are truly thought of and cared for as individuals and not just numbers!
